Peran Apoteker Dalam Integrasi Nasional Dan Pengabdian Diri Terhadap Masyarakat
The Importance of Unity in a Country Unity is the main foundation that supports the sustainability and progress of a country. In the context of national life, unity is a manifestation of a shared commitment to unite all different elements of society, both in terms of ethnicity, religion, culture, language, and political views. Especially in a country with high diversity like Indonesia, unity is the main key to maintaining social harmony and building a stable national life. Without a sense of togetherness, each component of society will walk alone without a clear direction, thus potentially triggering conflicts of interest that are detrimental to the nation as a whole.
Unity provides strength for a nation to face various challenges, both from within and outside the country. History has proven that a strong nation is a nation that is able to maintain unity amidst diversity. A sense of unity fosters solidarity, empathy, and a spirit of mutual cooperation among members of society. Thus, society will find it easier to work together to achieve common goals, such as improving economic welfare, maintaining national security, and strengthening the nation's position in the global arena. In addition, unity also fosters a sense of love for the homeland and pride in national identity, which are important factors in maintaining the integrity of the country. With unity, society will feel that they have a strong bond with the country, thus creating political, economic and social stability that is conducive to development.
Furthermore, unity also plays an important role in creating a peaceful and harmonious environment. In a diverse society, for example on the UNISSULA campus, differences of opinion or friction between groups often arise. However, if a sense of unity is deeply embedded, society will be wiser in responding to these differences. They will see differences as something natural and even as a national asset that needs to be maintained. Unity instills the understanding that diversity is not a barrier, but a strength that can encourage creativity and innovation. With unity, a country will have a strong foundation to develop and achieve progress in various areas of life.
Problems That Will Be Faced If There Is No Unity When there is no unity in a country, various serious problems will arise and threaten the sustainability of national and state life. One of the most obvious impacts of the absence of unity is the emergence of divisions in society. For example, on the UNISSULA campus, differences that should be the wealth of the nation will turn into a source of conflict that damages the social order. For example, divisions between tribes, religions, or political groups can trigger prolonged conflicts that are difficult to resolve. This kind of conflict not only causes material losses, but also damages existing relationships between communities.
In addition, the lack of unity also causes the emergence of a sense of group egoism, where each individual or group only thinks of their own interests without regard to national interests. If this is allowed to drag on, national development will be hampered because there is no harmonious collaboration between various parties. The government will also have difficulty in implementing development programs because many parties do not support or even oppose the policy. This situation will worsen national stability and reduce public trust in the government.
